What Is the 180 Day Calculator?

The 180 Day Calculator tells you the exact calendar date that falls 180 days after a chosen start date. It automatically accounts for the different lengths of each month and for leap years, so you never have to count days on a calendar by hand. While the default is 180 days, you can enter any number of days to project forward.

How to Use It

Pick your start date and confirm the number of days (180 by default). The calculator adds the days to the start date and returns the resulting date along with the day of the week. This is handy for legal deadlines, return windows, probation periods, medical follow-ups, contract terms, and project milestones that are commonly measured in 180-day windows.

The Formula

The calculation is simply:

$$\text{Result Date} = \text{Start Date} + 180 \text{ days}$$

Each day advances the calendar by one, rolling over month and year boundaries. February is treated as 28 days in common years and 29 days in leap years (years divisible by 4, except centuries not divisible by 400).

Worked Example

Suppose your start date is January 1, 2024. Adding 180 days lands on June 29, 2024. Because 2024 is a leap year, February contributes 29 days, which is correctly reflected in the result. The calculator shows that June 29, 2024 falls on a Saturday.

FAQ

Does it include the start date? No. Day 0 is the start date itself, and day 180 is exactly 180 days later — the start date is not counted as one of the 180.

Does it handle leap years? Yes. Leap days are included automatically when the 180-day span crosses February 29.

Can I use a different number of days? Absolutely. Change the "Number of Days" field to add 30, 90, 365, or any value you need.
