What is the Weeks Until Christmas Calculator?
This calculator tells you how many full weeks remain between any given date and Christmas Day, December 25. It is perfect for planning your shopping, baking, travel, and gift-making schedule. The formula explained
The calculation works in milliseconds. It subtracts the start date from December 25 of the chosen year, divides by 86,400,000 (the number of milliseconds in a day) to get days, then divides by 7 and rounds down with the floor function to get whole weeks:

Worked example
Suppose today is December 4, 2024. From December 4 to December 25 is exactly 21 days. Dividing 21 by 7 gives 3, so there are 3 full weeks until Christmas, with 0 extra days.

FAQ
Does this count partial weeks? No — the main result is rounded down to complete weeks. The "extra days" row shows the leftover days beyond the last full week.
What if Christmas has already passed? If your chosen date is after December 25 of the selected year, the result will be negative. Increase the year by one to count to next Christmas.
Are time zones considered? The calculation uses calendar dates at midnight, so time zones do not affect the whole-week result.
